Sending high-value, expensive items by pallet is an excellent and cost-effective way to transport your items. However, there are some things that you need to be aware of before you commit to sending. Packaging your goods securely is essential if you wish to avoid the risks associated with sending these items. You need to be sure that your items are securely packaged before you add them to the pallet, and fixed safely to the pallet itself. For more details on preparation, see our pallet presentation guide.
The following items will not be insured for loss or damage if you choose to send them via pallet. If you do ship these items, it is entirely at your own risk, and if confiscated by Customs, they may not be returned. Before booking, please review our full list of prohibited items to ensure your goods are eligible for transport.
Antiques high in value must be sent using a special service only. We recommend checking our pallet services page to find the most appropriate option for specialist freight.
We also recommend that expensive items that are attractive to thieves be camouflaged in their packaging or plain packaging placed around them, to distract attention away and give no clues as to the contents. This is a vital step when utilizing a pallet courier network where goods may be transhipped through various hubs.
Generally, most other things are fine to be sent by pallet delivery services, but if in doubt, please contact us, and we will be happy to explain your options and costs. Our team is available to help clarify any concerns regarding pallet shipping costs for high-value consignments. If you are unsure whether to send your items, please email us at info@sendapallet.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
